As we cannot currently present our usual programme of monthly meetings at Fratton Community Centre, the payment of membership subscriptions is suspended until further notice. We will automatically re-enrol 2019 2020 season members for the 2020 2021 season, so for them no action is needed. Members new to the Society will be most welcome and are asked to enrol using the Membership Application Form. Until Government guidance permits us to meet at Fratton Community Centre we are planning to offer our programme of monthly talks on-line using Zoom where speakers are happy with this arrangement. As the situation develops, further details will be given on our Meetings page.
We are delighted to tell you that our President Emeritus, Professor Patrick Williams, has been made a member of the Spanish Real Academia de la Historia , an august body founded in the 1730s. We have congratulated him on behalf of the Society, but will be very happy to forward to him any personal emails that members may wish to send.
